Hjalmar moves is a five episode radio short story written by the August award winner Ann-Helén Laestadius. It’s about a football boy who moves to Kiruna where he lives in Snusdosan. Since the story was quite dependant on the place and the illustrator had to have a passing knowledge of the area I got the job to illustrate the story, and there wasn’t much time. I ran out to do some research and started sketching immidiately.
the pictures are a combination of toon shaded 3d rendering and digital paintovers. The idéa was to capture the feeling of environments, since the geography is quite of if you start to compare.
